We wrapped up the year with Pecha Kucha presentations and students did a great job with this new format. The idea was to really know your content, not as memorization, but as a story to tell. Time management for projects is also important and some students were pulling everything together at the eleventh hour, which is not the best way to have a presentation go smoothly. One of the big goals of that project was also to expand our geographic literacy. Want to have fun with geography? Try Geoguessr this summer. Challenge your friends and family!
For the summer:
1) The blog is open and you are welcome to write posts about your interests, activities, good books, or summer adventures. Just be sure to use your best writing skills and proofread before submitting. I will check periodically over the summer for posts and comments awaiting approval.
2) Work on keyboarding skills with either the Type to Learn log in or other online typing games. You will never regret learning keyboarding skills!
3) Don't spend too much time looking at a screen this summer! Technology is a great thing and we know we can't live without it anymore in today's world, but there are so many other wonderful ways to learn and experience the world as well. Look up from your screens and enjoy everything summer has to offer. READ a BOOK!
4) The Google accounts will be suspended for the summer months and will be reactivated at the start of the school year.
Have a wonderful summer vacation!
