Fourth graders have continued to get comfortable with Google Docs and also spent some time learning to navigate the environment of their new McGraw Hill reading resources. This week they walked into the lab to see that instead of a PC they had a Chromebook to work with for the first time. We spent a class period learning about logging in and where various functions were on the keyboard and also setting a home button that would easily get back to the Cougartech webmix that we use so often as a starting point. As soon as the mobile carts arrive the Chromebooks will be placed in the cart in the classroom for charging and then students will have easy access to the devices for use across the curriculum. You can read more about Chromebooks and the particular model we have by visiting the Chromebook topic in the left side bar.
**Many fourth graders should have come home with an Internet permission slip to be signed and returned. There was some confusion over this at the beginning of the year because I believe Mrs. Smith had asked that they be printed at home and returned, but only a few students returned the form. I have given her copies to distribute to anyone whose form has not yet been received. Thank you for filling out yet another (necessary) form.
